Dr. Herschelman joined Wake Gastroenterology in March of 2008. Prior to that he was in private practice in Aventura, Florida for twelve years before moving to the Triangle area. In Florida, Dr. Herschelman served on peer and utilization review committees at Aventura Hospital. He also taught medical students and residents from the University of Miami and Nova University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Herschelman’s special interests include inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), acid and peptic related diseases (GERD and peptic ulcer disease), gastrointestinal bleeding, and irritable bowel syndrome. Additionally, he is participating in clinical research studies related to gastrointestinal diseases at Wake Research Associates. He is now accepting new gastroenterology patients, consultations, and open access procedures. |
